Anchor Bolts

Anchor bolts are used to attach structures to concrete.  There are many types of anchor bolts, including low carbon galvanized anchors bolts and stainless steel anchor bolts.  Anchor bolts have a threaded end, to which a nut and washer can be attached for the external load.  Anchor bolts are used on many types of structures, including bridges and dams.

One type of anchor bolt is a cast-in-place anchor.  There are other designs, which can be seen in our online catalog.  Cast-in-place anchor bolts are the strongest type of fastener, usually used for heavy machines mounted on poured concrete floors.  Other types of anchor bolts that can be used are mechanical and epoxy bolts.  Epoxy bolts are the strong, but can be very tricky to install, since the epoxy has to be mixed to exact specifications, the hole must be very clean, and the set time has to be watched.  Mechanical anchor bolts have a wedge arrangement; tightening the bolt results in a wedge being driven up against a sleeve.
