Wire Rope and Rigging Hardware
Wire rope and rigging hardware are available from BACO. Wire rope is strong, weather-resistant hoisting cable made from many small metal filaments wrapped and braided together. You can get a lot of strength and flexibility out of wire rope because the separate wires equalize pressure throughout the bunch and work well with pulleys and other rigging hardware.
Wire rope gets its strength from the arrangement of the strands of which it is composed. This design allows wire rope to hold a lot of weight and still remain flexible to a degree. Along with quality, durable rigging hardware, this combination can help you with any application.
Wire rope can be made from steel or iron. For outdoor use, many kinds of wire rope are galvanized so they won’t rust through corrosion. Wire that hasn’t been galvanized is called “bright.” BACO offers both bright and galvanized wire rope. Other types are available with alloys that add various advantages. Wire rope usually can be maintained with cleaning and lubricating so it and the rigging hardware used with it remain useful.
